On behalf of Psychosocial Rehabilitation/Readaptation Canada, I am pleased to announce the release of the PSR Practice Standards and Definitions for Recovery-Orientated Services.This document will provide information to providers who want guidance to ensure that their services are indeed focused on the individual and provide respect, dignity and choice. These standards reflect the philosophy identified in 'Toward Recovery and Well-Being - A Framework for a Mental Health Strategy' - released by the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
Work will continue on ensuring that these standards reflect the best knowledge available. The standards will be discussed at the organization's upcoming Annual Conference, September 20-23, 2010 in Ottawa
