The planning committee
invites you to submit a proposal for presentation at the
national conference in Vancouver, British Columbia
“Empowering
Change through Psychosocial Rehabilitation” scheduled for
September 24th-26th, 2012 at the
Coast Plaza Hotel and Suites.
Abstract Submission Deadline:
March 1, 2012
Results Notification: April 1, 2012
The conference committee is seeking abstracts from individuals or agencies
(including Clubhouse, Social Enterprise, Cultural/Ethnic Communities
including First Nation Communities) who can contribute knowledge, share expertise and creative avenues of “Empowering
Change through Psychosocial Rehabilitation”. Submissions from a variety of perspectives are encouraged as the conference organizers are committed to ensuring that the program reflects a range of themes and perspectives.

are welcomed:

• Cultural Safety • Ethics and Law • Family Oriented
Programs • Leadership • Lived Experience of Mental Health
Issues • Research and/or Evaluation
• Standards around PSR
• Stigma
• Social Enterprise and/or
supported productive activities |

The PSR/RPS Canada Conference Committee is planning
for 60 and 90 minutes concurrent presentations.
All presentations need to be interactive.
All presentations need to include an interactive and
participatory component. The interactive part of the abstract application
needs to be provided for review by the abstract team. Question and Answer sessions
needs to be built into the presentations.
Your Submission - All Sections need to be completed.
All submissions will be evaluated using the following criteria:
- Relevance to the conference theme
- Clarity and coherence of submission
- Contribution to the knowledge and practice of
psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery
- Relevance and utility to participants
- Evidence that submission will encourage
interaction among conference participants
- Consistency with the values of psychosocial
rehabilitation
ACCEPTANCE AS PRESENTER
Please note:
- Presenters must register and pay for the
full conference. Honoraria and travel reimbursement is not available.
Presenters will be asked to submit an electronic version of their
presentation to the event manager.
- Presenters are responsible for providing all material
for their presentation to the conference participants (a small
handout is recommended for participants).
- Presenters will be provided with a designated time to present by the conference committee
- A pdf copy of the presentation needs to be
submitted to the event manager for uploading to the PSR/RPS Canada
website before the end of the conference.
- Bursaries may be available for presenter(s) with lived experience.
